· Slip, Trip, and Fall

 

 

-          Obtain a permit to work before starting the job.

-          The supervisor shall conduct a Toolbox talk with workers involved in the work before starting the activity.

-          A responsible person (HSE, Supervisor, and Foreman) will conduct an inspection, monitor the work activities, and have to ensure safety standards and procedures strictly adhere to.

-          All equipment shall be inspected on daily basis.

-          Check equipment for proper guarding for moving parts

-          A whip check/arrestor shall be provided for all pressure hoses

-          The concrete pump is to be kept at a safe distance from the location while pouring the concrete

-          The supervisor shall inspect the hydraulic system of the concrete pump before starting activity and ensure that no leakage from the system.

-          The pre-inspection checklist shall be filled out by the operator.

-          The ground condition shall be checked. - Compressor hoses shall have retaining straps, locking pins, and standard couplers at all connections to prevent whipping

-          A fire extinguisher and first aid kit were provided at the site

 

 

-          Open pits to be hard barricaded

-          Before starting the pour, ensure that guardrails are in place 2 meters away from the excavation edge.

-          Concrete pouring shall not start unless the operator is satisfied with the radius and position of the concrete pump

-          The area beneath the pour shall be free from all obstructions.

-          The area beneath the pour shall be evacuated and all unauthorized persons shall be removed from the site.

-          Lighting must be adequate as per approved lux.

 

 

-          Wearing PPEs such as Face shields, rubber gloves, gumshoes, dust masks, etc.

-          The eye was station available at the work site or fresh drinking water for eye wash

-          Under the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) in force workers handling, using, or exposed to dry or wet cement must be educated in hazards and controls

-          Mix dry cement in well-ventilated areas

-          Clothing contaminated by wet cement should be quickly removed.

-          Skin in contact with wet cement should be washed immediately with

-          large amounts of cool clean water

-          Contaminated eyes should be washed with cold tap water for at least 15 minutes before the affected person is taken to the hospital

-          Coveralls with long sleeves and full-length trousers, Waterproof boots high enough to prevent concrete from flowing in when workers must stand in fresh concrete

-          Dispose of the concrete waste at the designated area following all necessary environmental requirements.

-          Drinking water available at the site

-          Rest shelter shall be available at the work site.

 

 

-          Maintain good housekeeping to avoid slips, and trip hazards - Area Should be clean and tidy

-          Tools and equipment do not keep or stacked on the access /egress

-          Barricaded area

-          Display safety signage
