HSE TRAINING PROCEDURE

HSE Training Method

Trainers provide training by using any one of the following methods:

  • Verbal instructions,
  • Slide / Presentation,
  • Videos,
  • Written material, Demonstration.

Preparation of Training Plan

HSE Department prepares the monthly/annual training matrix and consults with the supervisor to prepare a training plan in line with the agreed departmental schedules and budgets. The Training Plan is then communicated to the concerned Supervisors / Departmental Heads. Apart from scheduled training, any External training may also be proposed. Training requests either planned or as per requirement, initiated by Supervisors /Departmental Heads sent for the approval to HSE Manager/Project Manager.

Execution of Training Plan 

The following training will be executed to fulfill the training plan.

In-House Training Sessions

House, training shall be conducted by a person having the necessary qualification, experience, and available and up-to-date subject matter. The HSE Manager shall declare which topic needs a refresher as necessary apart from Incident Investigation.

Company management provides awareness training to all employees regarding policies, relevant objectives, and their contribution to the effectiveness of IMS including benefits of improved performance and the implications of not conforming to the IMS requirements, significant environmental aspects and related impacts, OH&S hazards and risks, etc.

In light of training needs already identified a list of employees at a certain level or performing functions related to the course. Supervisor / Departmental Heads can also request Project Manager to conduct in-house training. In-house training records include announcements/notices and training attendance.

External Training (If necessary)

External Trainers shall be arranged as required. Requests for external training are evaluated and processed by the Project Manager/ HSE Manager.

The company encourages employees who participate in seminars, conferences, and if necessary other forms of external training.

The learning and development centers, consultancy firms, and training institutes may be contacted for the training & development of employees.

The senior Manager asks for nominations from the supervisors / Departmental Heads to fulfill the training requirement as per the training plan.

Departmental Training

Enhancement of Technical skills w.r.t Technical / Professional Courses

Each department is responsible for providing the necessary training to ensure that its employees are skilled, capable, and competent to perform their functions.

          III.  Specific job assignments

On-the-job training, on the technical & administrative aspects of the work, is provided by any one of the Department Head / HSE Manager/Lead HSE, and the training records are maintained by the HSE department, including its scope, duration, and the name of the person.

Those employees who do not perform satisfactorily are provided with additional or repeated training.

Further continuation training is provided throughout employment, to keep pace with developing technology (where required).

As our priority is to utilize in-house training resources such as officer conferences, pre-boarding seminars, on-job training, self-studies, and computer-based training/simulation. When we select outside training facilities for our personnel due regard shall be paid to price and quality.

Plan awareness talks shall be conducted periodically under the supervision of the HSE Manager.

Appropriate measures shall be applied for evaluating the effectiveness of the training provided.

The respective Department Head shall plan the training of concerned personnel with the involvement of HSE.

Training Evaluation

At the end of each training, participants are required to complete a training evaluation form to rate their training experience

The company identifies personnel training needs, provides required training, and evaluates the effectiveness of the training provided.

Persons assigned to perform specific tasks, operations, and processes are qualified based on appropriate education, experience, or training

Training is assessed by Departmental Heads/ Lead HSE/Managers/trainers assess training as follows.

·         Oral questions.

·         Work/job

·         Performance monitoring

·         Demonstration of training acquired and

·         Trainer remarks

Follow-up Evaluation of Individual Employees

Competency or skill training of permanent employees is evaluated by their Section Heads/ Lead HSE/ Manager / Trainer. This evaluation assesses whether a particular training has achieved its Objectives and whether the employee is sufficiently competent and/or skilled to perform the new job function for which he or she was trained.

The results of this evaluation are recorded and are kept together with the original training record.

Training Records

HSE Department maintains training records, i.e. attendance sheets, presentations, copies of certificates, education, training Feedback, etc.

HSE Training matrix

The company HSE department has developed the following training matrix for the early phase of the project, and the training matrix is a live matrix, on condition any new training course is identified according to the actual training demand, the training matrix will be updated accordingly.
